2024 MLB Draft Combine Schedule Announced

Major League Baseball announced the 2024 MLB Draft Combine schedule on May 28. It will be held from June 18 to 21 at Chase Field in Phoenix, Ariz.

This will be the fourth straight year that MLB is hosting their Draft Combine.

This will be the second consecutive season that the MLB Draft Combine will take place at Chase Field. The first one was held in 2021 at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C.

The first MLB Draft Combine at an MLB stadium was in 2022 at Petco Park in San Diego, California.

MLB Network will have coverage of the 2024 Draft Combine on Tuesday, June 18, at 1 p.m. ET.

According to MLB.com on May 28, “The 2023 Draft Combine grew significantly following the impact of the 2022 event as 298 Draft-eligible players attended the Combine (+23% vs. 2022) and 39 of the top 50 Draft selections participated in Combine events (+22% vs. 2022). In addition, 75 of the top 100 picks in the MLB Draft were Combine attendees (+17% vs. 2022), while 217 of the 298 Combine attendees overall were selected in the MLB Draft (72.8%), compared to 172 of 243 in 2022 (70.8%)”.

There will be a top 300 Draft-eligible players, as identified by MLB Clubs, who have been invited to attend the 2024 Draft Combine and up to 50 supplemental invites that can participate.

There are 16 previous combine participants who are already on a 40-man roster from MLB teams. As of May 21, 2024, all 16 combine participants had made their MLB debuts.

All participating high school players can play in a live game against other high school Combine attendees.

The MLB Draft Combine will provide players with an opportunity to participate in a series of medical and performance-based drills and educational programming designed to prepare them for careers with any of the 30 clubs.

All MLB Draft Combine participants will have the opportunity to display their talents in a pro-style showcase workout and take strength and performance drill assessments.

Every participant at the MLB Draft Combine is eligible to enter the 2024 MLB Draft in July and can elect to sign once they are selected in any of the 20 rounds by any of the 30 organizations.

Notebook For 2024 MLB Draft: 

The 2024 MLB Draft will be held at Cowtown Coliseum on July 14 in Fort Worth, Texas, at 7 p.m. EST on MLB Network.

The Cowtown Coliseum opened in 1908 and is part of the Fort Worth Stockyards Historic District. The Cowtown Coliseum is the first-ever indoor arena for rodeos in the United States, holds 3,418 seats, and is home to the Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame and the Bull Riding Hall of Fame.

The first round of the 2024 MLB Draft will be held on July 14 at 7 p.m. EST on MLB Network at the Cowtown Coliseum.

All 20 rounds of the 2024 MLB Draft will be from July 14-16.

The first and second rounds will be on July 14. Rounds 3-10 will be on July 15, and rounds 11-20 will be on July 16.
