All games of the Baseball European Federation Cup Qualifiers on June 13 took place in Skarpnäck Baseballpark in Sweden.

Kutno (Poland) 14, London Capitals 4 (7 innings)

Kutno was held scoreless for three innings and down 2-0, but its bats woke up big time, scoring five runs in the fourth and seven in the fifth.

The big hit in the fourth that started to break things open was a two-run double from shortstop Kiryl Kazlouski. London Capitals starting pitcher Maxime Flayol cruised through three scoreless innings and hit a wall in the fourth, giving up three runs, two of which were earned. Flayol took the loss.

Cameron Lee came in and gave up six runs in 1.1 innings. In the fifth, there was another two-run double from Kutno third baseman Yauheni Kuhun. Kutno was up 12-4 after five, and the game was effectively over.

Kutno has seven of their nine hitters drive in runs, and only one player in the lineup didn’t record a hit. Kazlouski led the way, going 3-for-4, with three RBI and a walk. Kurhun was 1-for-4, with two RBI and a walk. Kutno mercied the London Capitals 14-4 in seven innings.

Kutno’s starting pitcher went the distance with seven innings, four runs allowed, and six strikeouts. Kutno is 3-0 and is in a great position to win the Baseball European Federation Cup Qualifier in Sweden. The London Capitals are 1-1 and would need a lot of help to advance.

Stockholm Baseboll (Sweden) 17, Tempere Tigers 2 (Finland) (6 innings)

Stockholm Baseboll dominated the Tempere Tigers from the jump with five runs in the first, which was capped off by a two-run single from left fielder Oskar Tuna. Tuna was 2-for-3, with three RBI and a walk.

The Tempere Tigers’ starting pitcher, Jose Gonzalez, only got one out and gave up five runs. He took the loss and Stockholm Baseboll scored 17 runs without a home run. Stockhol Baseboll reliever Russel Silverman picked up the win, pitching four innings, with two runs allowed and four strikeouts.

Stockholm Baseboll had their biggest inning in the fifth with six runs. Henrik Soren Hansen led the way with an RBI single and was one of four players to get an RBI in the fifth. Hansen stayed hot in the sixth with an RBI double, and he scored the winning run on a balk from Tempere Tigers reliever Sakari Keskitalo. Hansen was four-for-five with four RBI.

Stockholm Baseboll mercied the Tempere Tigers 17-2 in six innings. Stockholm Baseboll is 2-0 and is still in contention to win the Baseball European Federation Cup Qualifier. The Tempere Tigers are 0-2 and are eliminated from contention.
