Newly acquired Dodger Shohei Ohtani has quickly become a fan favorite among all the star athletes in Los Angeles. The reigning American League MVP continues to receive recognition for his spectacular play. The Dodgers announced that Ohtani will get a bobblehead giveaway night later this season.
This will be his second such night this season. The Dodgers held an Ohtani bobblehead giveaway earlier this May, drawing large crowds. The bobblehead was given out to the first 40,000 fans to enter the stadium. The bobblehead depicting a smiling Ohtani with a bat over his left shoulder saw a sellout crowd of 53,527 at Dodger Stadium.
This is the largest crowd at any major league ballpark this season and the most at Dodger Stadium since September 20, 2019. After the giveaway, the Ohtani bobblehead was offered for $150 and up on eBay.
Ohtani’s next bobblehead night will feature his dog, Decoy. He is holding his dog, also a bobblehead, and wearing the Dodgers home uniform. The team announced the giveaway will be on August 28th when the Dodgers host the Baltimore Orioles.

As Ohtani continues his stellar start to his first season in LA, it can only be expected that more fans will be at his second bobblehead giveaway of the year.
Ohtani has gotten off to another MVP-level start through the first 73 games of the season. He is batting .317 with 20 home runs and an NL-best .995 OPS.
