NASCAR’s Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee, will host a 2025 MLB regular-season game between the Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Reds. This marks the beginning of a collaboration between MLB and NASCAR and continues MLB’s initiative to hold games in specialty locations.
As first reported by The Athletic, the Braves and the Ress were revealed to be the teams competing at the Speedway. MLB commissioner Rob Manfred and Speedway Motorsports CEO Marcus Smith are expected to make statements on Friday, Aug. 9.
In the past couple of seasons, the MLB has held games in nontraditional venues. These specialty venues include the Field of Dreams in Iowa, Rickwood Field in Alabama, and the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The MLB has also held multiple international games and events, such as the London Series and the MLB World Tour in Seoul, which kicked off this season.
Bristol Motor Speedway is the home of the Nascar Cup Series and multiple NCAA football games. This will be the first baseball game held at the Speedway.
The Braves and the Reds are two historic clubs with multiple World Series and have met twice in the playoffs. The Braves swept the Reds in the 1995 NLCS on the way to their first World Series title in franchise history.
Stars like Ronald Acuna Jr. and Elly De La Cruz will face off when the Reds play the Braves at Bristol Motor Speedway in 2025.
