Skinner played in Starkville for Mississippi State during the 2021 and 2022 seasons. This makes him a member of the 2021 national championship team.
He finished his Mississippi State career with a .224 batting average in 116 at-bats.
For the 2023 season, he transferred to Memphis, where he stood out as a big-time base stealer and finished second in the American Athletic Conference with 22. He also led the AAC in triples that season with six.
Skinner has experience in MLB Professional Partners Leagues. In 2024, he played for the Yolo High Rollers in the Pioneer League.
He had a productive season with a .298 batting average, a .803 OPS, 108 hits, and 41 stolen bases.
Skinner clearly came into his own playing with Yolo in California and can be a great addition to the newly founded Mud Monsters. For now, the former college baseball national champion has made history as the team’s first signing.
