TUCSON, Ariz. – Brazil defeated Germany 6-4 to clinch the final spot in the 2026 World Baseball Classic, securing its return to the tournament for the first time since 2013. Germany’s pitching staff, under manager Jendrick Speer, turned to starter Niklas Rimmel, Tommy Sommer, and Nick Wittgren, who combined to throw eight innings, allowing nine hits, six earned runs, four walks, and two strikeouts.
Germany’s offense struggled with runners in scoring position, going 1-for-6 and stranding six runners on base.
