Brewers Complete Crazy Comeback: One Thing From Each MLB Game

 Aaliyan Mohammed - World Baseball Network  |    Sep 23rd, 2024 10:00am EDT

The Milwaukee Brewers erased an 8-0 deficit to beat the Arizona Diamondbacks, shaking up the National League Wild Card race in the process. Here’s everything you missed from last night’s MLB action.

Milwaukee Brewers 10, Arizona Diamondbacks 9

The Brewers avoided the sweep in comeback fashion. The Crew trailed 8-0 after the third inning. However, the Brewers rallied and came all the way back before taking the lead on a Jake Bauers infield single. The Brewers have not lost four consecutive games all season.

Los Angeles Dodgers 6, Colorado Rockies 5

Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts went back-to-back to walk off the Rockies. The Dodgers have now put themselves ahead of the Philadelphia Phillies in the NL standings.

New York Mets 2, Philadelphia Phillies 1

The Mets are one of the hottest teams in baseball. They have taken three out of four from the Phillies and have a two-game lead on the Atlanta Braves for the final Wild Card spot in the NL.

San Diego Padres 4, Chicago White Sox 2

The Padres are looking like the Wild Card team that no one wants to see in October. They won their fourth straight behind a dominant outing from Yu Darvish. He went 6 1/3 with nine strikeouts.

New York Yankees 4, Oakland Athletics 2

Aaron Judge continues his great season as he looks to lock up the American League MVP Award. He swatted his 55th home run of the year as the Yankees took care of the A’s.

Texas Rangers 6, Seattle Mariners 5

Marcus Semien delivered a walk-off single to score Leody Tavares from second base in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Chicago Cubs 5, Washington Nationals 0

Shōta Imanaga shined as the Cubs shut out the Nats. He went seven innings while striking out four.

St. Louis Cardinals 2, Cleveland Guardians 1

The Cardinals one-hit the Guardians in a low-scoring affair. Nolan Arenado went 2-4 with an RBI for the Cardinals.

San Francisco Giants 2, Kansas City Royals 0

The Giants shut out the Royals for the second consecutive game. A two-run second inning was all it took for the Giants offense to get the job done.

Los Angeles Angels 9, Houston Astros 8

The Angels scored four runs off of Josh Hader in the top of the ninth inning to beat the Astros. It was Hader’s fourth blown save of the season.

Atlanta Braves 5, Miami Marlins 4

The Braves need to stack some wins as they have fallen two games back of the Mets in the Wild Card race. They pulled out a close win as Ozzie Albies hit his ninth home run of the year.

Tampa Bay Rays 4, Toronto Blue Jays 3

Jonathan Aranda has hit six home runs all year, three of which have come in the last three games. He hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning off Zach Pop.

Detroit Tigers 4, Baltimore Orioles 3

The Tigers 4-3 win over the Orioles vaulted them into the third Wild Card spot. After essentially selling at the deadline, they have found themselves in postseason position.

Pittsburgh Pirates 2, Cincinnati Reds 0

In what was likely Paul Skenes’s last start of the year, he pitched five innings with nine strikeouts in the Pirates shutout win.

Boston Red Sox 8, Minnesota Twins 1

Boston Red Sox 9, Minnesota Twins 3

The Red Sox swept the doubleheader, pushing the Twins out of the Wild Card spot. The Twins will have to close out strong to reclaim a spot in the postseason.
