The only unbeaten national team left at Honkbalweek Haarlem puts its record on the line Monday night. Italy, 2-0 and rolling, closes the day against a Curaçao side that found its bats just in time.

What’s at Stake
Italy has been the team of the tournament so far. The Azzurri stunned the host Netherlands 2-0 on Robel García’s pinch-hit double, then watched Mattia Aldegheri spin 5.1 hitless innings in a 3-1 win over the International Globetrotters. A win here moves Italy to 3-0 and tightens its grip on the top of the table heading into the playoff stage.
Curaçao arrives at 1-1, and trending up. After dropping a 10th-inning heartbreaker to Chinese Taipei in the opener, the islanders exploded for a 16-hit, 11-2 rout of Czechia behind Ericson Leonora’s grand slam and five scoreless from Martijn Schoonderwoerd. For a roster representing an island of roughly 150,000 people that has sent a staggering number of players to the major leagues, a win over unbeaten Italy would be a statement — and would keep Curaçao firmly in the playoff picture.
Starting pitchers had not been confirmed at publication. We’ll update if the matchup is announced before first pitch.
