The Miami Marlins will host the Choque de Gigantes event with teams from LIDOM, the Liga Venezolana de Beisbol Profesional, and the Liga de Béisbol Profesional Roberto Clemente in Puerto Rico from November 8-10 at loanDepot Park.
The Navegantes del Magallanes, the Cardenales de Lara, the Leones del Caracas from LVBP, the Estrellas de Orientales from LIDOM, and the Criollos de Caguas and the Cangrejeros de Santurce from LBPRC will participate at the Choque de Gigantes event.
The six organizations have a combined 76 league championships across the three leagues. The Leones del Caracas have 18 league titles, the Navegantes del Magallanes have 13 league titles, the Cardenales de Lara have five league titles, the Criollos de Caguas have 21 league championships, Cangrejeros de Santurce have 16 league championships, and Estrellas de Orientales have three league titles.
The Choque de Gigantes event will feature six games across the three days. The first day of the event on Friday, November 8, will feature “Eternos Rivales” Leones del Caracas and Navegantes del Magallanes as the night game at loanDepot Park.
Juan A. Flores Galarza is the President of the LPBRC, Giuseppe Palmisano is the President of the LVBP, and Vitelio Mejía Ortiz is the President of LIDOM, which helped organize the Choque de Gigantes event in Miami.
This will be the second club event the Marlins have hosted since the Serie de las Américas 2015 during the 2015-16 regular season. The Navegantes del Magallanes, the Cardenales de Lara of LVBP, the Tigres del Licey, and the Águilas Cibaeñas from LIDOM will participate.
The Marlins also hosted the 2024 Caribbean Series this past February, and it was the first time the tournament was held in a Major League Baseball stadium since the tournament began in 1949.
The Marlins announced on November 6 that six games at Choques de Gigantes from Friday-Sunday, Nov. 8-10 at loanDepot Park will be available to be streamed internationally after agreements with 1Baseball Network, DAZN, FOX Sports, Meridiano Television, SimpleTV, Televen, and WAPA TV.
FOX Deportes and MLB Network will hold the exclusive domestic television rights for the Choque de Gigantes event. The tournament will be broadcast in Spanish and English and aired across both networks and streaming platforms.
The event will feature six games across the three days. Friday, November 8, will feature the Leones del Caracas and Navegantes del Magallanes as the night game at loanDepot Park.
The tournament will consist of two pool games. The Cardenales de Lara will play the Estrellas Orientales in Pool A on Friday, November 8, at 3 p.m. EST.
The Leones del Caracas will play the Navegantes del Magallanes in Pool B on November 8 at 8 p.m. EST.
Pool A and Pool B winners will play on Saturday, November 9, at 1 p.m. EST, and the Cangrejeros de Santurce will play the Criollos de Caguas at 6 p.m. EST.
The Pool B loser will play the Pool D loser in the third place game on Sunday, November 10 at 1 p.m. EST, and the Pool C winner and Pool D winner will play in the Championship Game at 6 p.m. EST.
