It was a historic day for Curacao Professional Baseball (CPB), as the Curacao Suns and Willemstad Cannons made the league’s first-ever trade.
The Suns sent outfielder Ericson Leonora to the Cannons for utility player Swindly Lint.
Leonora is a Venezuelan-born player who played in the Italian Baseball League in 2024. He played excellently, with a .388 batting average and an on-base percentage near .500. He has been playing in Italy since 2019.
Lint has a history of representing Curacao at international events. During the 2022 Caribbean Cup, he played for blue, yellow, and white. He has been known to be a two-way player who hits and pitches.
