Curacao Suns and Willemstad Cannons Make First Trade in CPB History

It was a historic day for Curacao Professional Baseball (CPB), as the Curacao Suns and Willemstad Cannons made the league’s first-ever trade

The Suns sent outfielder Ericson Leonora to the Cannons for utility player Swindly Lint

Leonora is a Venezuelan-born player who played in the Italian Baseball League in 2024. He played excellently, with a .388 batting average and an on-base percentage near .500. He has been playing in Italy since 2019.

Lint has a history of representing Curacao at international events. During the 2022 Caribbean Cup, he played for blue, yellow, and white. He has been known to be a two-way player who hits and pitches.

The first move in the Curacao Professional Baseball League has been made. Check back with World Baseball Network to follow the season in Curacao during January.
