On Wednesday, the Curacao Suns made perhaps the biggest signing of CPB free agency as they brought in Kenley Jansen.
The MLB veteran is coming off his second season with the Boston Red Sox in 2024. During that season, he finished with a 3.29 ERA and had 62 strikeouts in 54.2 innings. He also recorded 27 saves.
Jansen has played in Major League Baseball since 2010. He is a four-time all-star and, with the Los Angeles Dodgers, won a World Series championship in 2020.
He is also a two-time winner of the Trevor Hoffman Reliever of the Year award in the National League.
Jansen is also fourth on the MLB all-time saves list with 447 in his career.
He is a Curacao native, having been born in Willemstad in 1987. He will spend the month of January playing for the Suns in the CPB in his hometown.
