Draci Brno third baseman Martin Cervinka hit two home runs against Guggenberger Legionare Regensburg in their 6-3 win in the Baseball European Champions Cup at Armin-Wolf-Arena in Regensburg, Germany.

Cervinka’s first home run was a solo shot against Guggenberger Legionare Regensburg starting pitcher Devon Beaver Ramirez in the second to tie the game 1-1.

Guggenberger Legionare Regensburg responded in the bottom of the second with two runs to take a 3-1 lead. Their first run of the inning came on a throwing error from Draci Brno third baseman Cervinka, which allowed Guggenberger Legionare Regensburg shortstop Alexander Schmidt to reach second base, and catcher Antonios Skerret Torres to score. Second baseman Matthew Vance drove in their second run with an RBI single to score Schmidt.

Draci Brno starting pitcher Jhenderson Hurtado settled down after the second and pitched four scoreless innings to hold Guggenberger Legionare Regensburg to three runs. They wouldn’t score for the rest of the game. Their only other run came from an RBI single off the bat of Marlon Chayanne Jimenez Ramos in the first that brought in Schmidt. Hurtado pitched six innings with one earned run and four strikeouts.

Beaver Ramirez hit a wall in the fourth and gave up three runs to Draci Brno on a wild pitch, a steal of home from Cervinka, and a sacrifice fly from catcher Javier Alejandro Lucena to score shortstop Milam Prokop. Beaver Ramirez pitched 3.1 innings, with four runs allowed, and two strikeouts.

Cervinka delivered the knockout blow with his second home run of the game in the ninth against reliever Pablo Guillen. It was a two-run shot that brought in Prokop and he went 3-for-4 with two home runs, three RBI, one stolen base, and a walk.

Darci Barno reliever Filip Capka recorded the save with three scoreless innings and three strikeouts.
