Quick Notes on Every NCAA Tournament Regional

Fayetteville & Charlottesville Regionals 

Arkansas was the fifth overall seed in the Regionals and got eliminated by Southeast Missouri State in a 6-3 loss at home in Fayetteville. SEMO got two home runs from designated hitter Ty Stauss and second baseman Brooks Kettering.

SEMO lost to Kansas State 7-2 in an elimination game. Kansas State center fielder Brendan Jones led the way, going 3-for-5 with three RBI.

Super Regionals- Kansas State won the Fayetteville Regional and will play Virginia in the Super Regionals in Charlottesville this weekend. The series is two out of three, and the winner will go to Omaha to play in the College World Series.

Virginia beat Mississippi State 9-2 and put the game away in the ninth with six runs. Third baseman Luke Hanson went 1-for-4 and led Virginia with two RBI. Virginia starting pitcher Jay Woolfolk had a strong outing, pitching eight innings, giving up two runs, and striking out seven batters. Virginia is the 12th overall seed.

Santa Barbara & Bryan-College Station Regionals

Oregon eliminated the 14th overall seed, UC Santa Barbara, in the Santa Barbara Regional with a 3-0 win. Oregon starting pitcher Kevin Seitter pitched a complete game shutout with seven strikeouts. Oregon first baseman Jacob Walsh hit a solo home run.

Super Regionals- Oregon will play Texas A&M in the Bryan-College Station Regional.

Texas A&M is the third overall seed, and they beat Louisiana 9-4. Right fielder Braden Montgomery led the way with a three-run home run. He went 2-for-6 with four RBI.  Montgomery has 27 home runs on the season and is the eighth-ranked prospect in MLB Pipeline’s Top 200 Draft Rankings.

Athens & Raleigh Regionals 

Georgia is the seventh overall seed, and they beat Georgia Tech 8-6 in 10 innings to win the Athens Regional. First baseman Corey Collins hit a two-run double to give Georgia the insurance runs they needed against Georgia Tech.

Super Regionals- Georgia will play NC State in the Athens Super Regional.

NC State is the overall 10th seed, and they beat James Madison by 5-3. NC State third baseman Alec Markarewicz hit a two-run home run. NC State starting pitcher Logan Whitaker pitched six innings, giving up two runs and striking out six batters. NC State won the Raleigh Regional.

Knoxville & Greenville Regionals 

Tennessee is the top overall seed and won the Knoxville Regional with a 12-3 win against Southern Miss. Catcher Cal Stark went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI.

Super Regionals—East Carolina is the 16th overall seed and will play Evansville to determine the winner of the Greenville Regional in North Carolina. The winner will then go to Knoxville to play in the Super Regionals. Evansville beat ECU 4-1 on May 31, and ECU beat Evansville 19-6 on June 2.

Lexington & Corvallis Regionals 

Kentucky is the second overall seed, and they won the Lexington Regional with a 5-0 win against Indiana State. Second baseman Emilien Pitre hit a two-run home run. Kentucky starting pitcher Mason Moore pitched six scoreless innings with six strikeouts.

Super Regionals- Kentucky will play the winner of the Corvallis Regional in Lexington. Oregon State is the 15th overall seed and is playing UC Irvine on Monday, June 3. Their game on June 2 got suspended due to rain, with Oregon State leading 6-4 in the fourth. If Oregon State wins, they will advance to the Super Regional. If UC Irvine wins, they will force a decisive game three later in the night.

Tucson & Chapel Hill Regionals 

West Virginia is the 13th overall seed, and they won the Tucson Regional in Arizona by beating Grand Canyon 10-6. Catcher Logan Sauve led the way, going 3-for-5 with three RBI.

Super Regionals- LSU and North Carolina will be on June 3 in Chapel Hill to determine who plays West Virginia in the Super Regionals. LSU won 8-4 on June 2.

Tallahassee & Norman Regionals 

Florida State is the eighth overall seed, and they won the Tallahassee Regional with a 12-4 win against UCF. Center fielder Max Williams went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI. Third baseman Cam Smith was 1-for-2 with a home run, two RBI, and two walks.

Super Regionals- Florida State will play the winner of the Norman Regional. Oklahoma is the ninth overall seed and will play UConn in Oklahoma on June 3. The winner will travel to Tallahassee for the Super Regionals. UConn beat Oklahoma 4-1 on June 1 and lost to Oklahoma 6-4 on June 2.

Clemson & Stillwater Regionals 

Clemson is the sixth overall seed, and they won the Clemson Regional 12-5 against Coastal Carolina. Right Fielder Alden Mathis and shortstop Jacob Hinderledier each had three RBI, and catcher Jimmy Obertop hit a home run.

Super Regionals- Clemson will play the winner of Oklahoma State and Flordia Regional. Oklahoma State is the 11th overall seed and will play Florida in Stillwater. The winner will travel to Clemson for the Super Regionals. Oklahoma State beat Florida 7-1 on June 1 and lost to them 5-2 on June 2.
