On January 6, the Liga de Béisbol Profesional de la República Dominicana (LIDOM) announced its “Primos Apollo,” the regular season award winners. Liga Venezolana de Béisbol Profesional (LVBP) also announced its regular season awards on January 6.
LIDOM 2024-2025 Regular Season Awards
The winners in LIDOM for “Premios Apollo” MVP is the Águilas Cibaeñas first baseman Aderlin Rodriguez, the Pitcher of the Year is, Rodriguez’s teammate, left-handed pitcher Envy Romero, and Rookie of the Year is Estrellas Orientales right-handed pitcher Luis Moreno.
The Gentlemen of the Year award goes to Gigantes del Cibao, third baseman Kelvin Gutierrez. The award is given by the players and goes to the player who shows the most respect for the game and the opponent.
The Estrellas Orientales manager, Fernando Tatis Sr., won Manager of the Year, and the General Manager of the Year went to Águilas Cibaeñas general manager Angel Ovalles.
The MVP, Rodriguez, 33, led LIDOM with eight home runs and 28 RBI during the regular season and had an OPS of .965 in 124 at-bats. The Pitcher of the year, Romero, 33, had the lowest ERA in LIDOM with a 1.24 in 51 innings. He also led LIDOM with six wins and was second with 47 strikeouts. Rookie of the Year, Moreno, 25, pitched 39.1 innings with 37 strikeouts and an ERA of 1.83. Gentleman of the Year Gutierrez, 30, had two home runs, 20 RBI, and an OPS of .777 in 135 at-bats.
The Manager of the Year, Tatis Sr., helped guide Estrellas Orientales to the best regular season LIDOM record. The General Manager of the Year, Angel Ovalles, constructed a team that put Águilas Cibaeñas in second place during the regular season with a record of 28-22.
LIDOM announced its Gold Glove winners for the 2024-2025 season on January 12, according to CN Deportes reporter Nicole Baez.

LIDOM Historic Note for Tigres del Licey outfielder Emilio Bonifacio
Bonifacio played his 200th LIDOM Round Robin game against Estrellas Orientales in a 5-4 win on January 12 at Estadio Tetelo Vargas in San Pedro de Marocís. This is the second most Round Robin games in LIDOM history behind Àguilas Cibaeñas outfielder Luis Polonia, who played 297 games per Luichy Sanchez Peralta, journalist and analyst researcher.

LVBP 2024-2025 Regular Season Awards
The LVBP regular season awards winners were the Navegantes del Magallanes third baseman Renato Nùñez for MVP, his teammate right-handed pitcher Junior Guerra won Pitcher of the Year and Comeback Player. Rookie of the Year went to the Tiburones de la Guaira outfielder Luis Matos. The Closer of the Year is right-handed pitcher Silvino Brancho, who is also on the Àguilas de Zulia, and the Setup Man of the Year is the Bravos de Margarita left-handed pitcher Dédgar Jiménez. Manager of the Year was the Águilas del Zulia Manager, Lipso Nava.
In Venezuela, the MVP, Nùnez, 30, led the LVBP with 21 home runs, 63 RBI, and an OPS of 1.111 in 190 at-bats. Pitcher of the Year and Comeback Player of the Year, Guerra, 39, led the LVBP with 68.1 innings, had the lowest ERA 2.63, and had the most wins with eight. The Closer of the Year, Bracho, 32, led the LVBP with 10 saves and pitched 24.2 innings with 19 strikeouts and a 2.92 ERA. The Setup Man of the Year, Jiménez, 28, led LVBP with 10 holds and pitched 19 innings with seven strikeouts and an ERA of 6.63. Rookie of the Year, Matos, 22, had 10 home runs, 41 RBI, and an OPS of .881 in 220 at-bats during the LVBP regular season.
The Manager of the Year, Nava, helped lead the Águilas del Zulia to a third-place finish in the LVBP regular season standings at 30-26.
