As the baseball world gets ready for Tuesday night’s MLB All-Star Game at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, there is a large contingent of All-Stars who also represented their home countries at the 2026 World Baseball Classic.
Six of the eight participants from last night’s Home Run Derby were at the WBC.
Hometown heroes Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper both suited up for the United States. Munetaka Murakami represented Japan for the second time.
Junior Caminero, who lost to eventual champion Jordan Walker in the second round, manned third base for the Dominican Republic. Willson Contreras, heavily booed by Phillies fans at the derby, played for Venezuela at the WBC.
Finally, budding star Jac Caglianone wore green, white and red at the most recent edition of the international tournament for Italy.
There will be plenty of other names in the starting lineups and in the dugouts and bullpen for the American and National League who were WBC competitors.
Below, you’ll find a list of those players. Those who were named All-Stars but will not participate in the game due to injury are not included. That includes some of the top superstars in baseball, like Aaron Judge (United States) and Shohei Ohtani (Japan).
