According to MLB Insider J.P Morosi, the Kiwoom Heroes will not offer left-handed pitcher Enmanuel De Jesus a contract for the 2025 season. De Jesus is coming off a fantastic debut season in the KBO in which he won 13 games and finished second in the league with 178 strikeouts.
A 2013 international free agent signing by the Boston Red Sox, De Jesus spent nine seasons in the Red Sox, Giants and Marlins minor-league system before making two appearances with Miami at the end of 2023. The 27-year-old left-hander reportedly already has two offers to return to MLB, although he could choose to sign with a different KBO team.
The Kiwoom Heroes, meanwhile, will look to retool following back-to-back last-place finishes. After choosing to let De Jesus walk, they will have to make a similar decision on fellow international starting pitcher Ariel Jurado. The 28-year-old Panamanian has led the league with 370 innings over the last two sessions while posting an ERA below 3.00.
