Dilson Herrera, who appeared in 105 Major League Baseball games over parts of four seasons with the New York Mets, Cincinnati Reds, and Baltimore Orioles, has signed with the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks of the American Association.
A native of Cartagena, Colombia, Herrera last appeared in the Major Leagues with Baltimore in 2020, appearing in three games and going hitless in five at-bats. In 105 games in the Major Leagues, Herrera has a slash line of .199/.290/.386 with a .676 OPS, 11 homers and 28 RBI.
Last winter, Herrera appeared in 39 games with the Caimanes de Barranquilla, slashing .304/.373/.407 with a .780 OPS, two home runs and 16 RBI. He’s spent each of the last three winters with the Caimanes, appearing with the club in the 2021, 2022, and 2023 Caribbean Series and the 2023 Baseball Champions League Americas.
At the 2023 Baseball Champions League Americas, Herrera went hitless in nine at-bats for the Caimanes, scoring one run and striking out five times, and went 0-for-2 with a strikeout against the RedHawks in a 10-6 Caimanes loss during pool play.
