Ahead of this 2025 season, the team here at World Baseball Network put together a list of one prospect from each MLB team that could impact their respective teams.

Braves: SP Luis De Avila

Signing with the Rockies back in July 2017 out of Colombia, the Braves selected him in the Minor League phase of the Rule 5 Draft in December 2021. Since being acquired by the Braves, the 23-year-old has been primarily used as a starting pitcher, spending 2024 at the Double-A level. In 19 starts, De Avila went 4-10, posting a 3.74 ERA, striking out 79 batters across 101 innings of work. It will be intriguing to see where he begins this season, as he is currently ranked as the 15th-best prospect in the Braves organization, according to MLB Pipeline.

Phillies: SP/RP Moises Chace

The Phillies added starter/relief pitcher Moises Chace to their 40-man roster ahead of the 2025 season. The Orioles originally signed the 21-year-old out of Venezuela in July 2019. Chace and Seth Johnson were part of the trade that sent Gregory Soto over to the Orioles. Chace pitched at the High-A level for most of the 2024 season, ending his year at Double-A. For the season, he compiled a 5-4 record in 23 games and 15 starts, posting a 3.59 ERA, striking out 124 batters and walking 40 in just 80.1 innings pitched. The Phillies could look to use Chace as a long-reliever entering Spring Training.

Marlins: 1B/3B Deyvison De Los Santos

Leading all of Minor League Baseball in home runs this past season with 40 long balls, the Marlins also added Deyvison De Los Santos to their 40-man roster. The 21-year-old corner infielder was acquired by the Marlins this past July in exchange for A.J. Puk. He would begin the 2024 season in Double-A but would end up playing most of his games at the Triple-A level between the D-Backs and Marlins organization. Ranked the fifth-best prospect in the Marlins organization, De Los Santos hit .294 in 137 games, blasting 40 home runs and driving in 120 RBIs. The Marlins will certainly take a long look at De Los Santos this Spring Training, as he could wind up battling out recently acquired Matt Mervis for the starting role.

Mets: 2B/SS/OF Luisangel Acuña

Making his MLB debut in 2024 and impressing in just 14 games at the big league level, Luisangel Acuña could be due up for a strong 2025 season. After spending a majority of 2024 with Triple-A, the brother of Braves slugger Ronald Acuña Jr. showed he was ready to make the most of his opportunity when he arrived to the show. Acuña hit .308 in 39 at-bats in a Mets uniform, hitting three home runs and adding six RBIs. The Mets seem to be getting ready tonwelcome back Jeff McNeil as their starting second baseman for 2025, but Acuña will certainly not be too far behind as he looks to make the most of all his opportunities entering Spring Training.

Nationals: SP Andry Lara

Another prospect who made significant strides in 2024 was Venezuelan right-handed pitcher Andry Lara. Lara was signed in July 2019 by the Nationals. After making just six starts at the High-A level to begin last season, he would finish and pitch most of the year in Double-A. Making 25 starts, Lara went 11-11 across both levels, with a 3.34 ERA, logging 134.2 innings, walking 44 batters, and striking out 132. Currently ranked as the Nationals 17th ranked prospect according to MLB Pipeline, Lara was recently added to the Nationals 40-man roster ahead of the 2025 season.
