On Wednesday, Mexico took on a red-hot Netherlands team at Estadio Panamericano. When it was all said and done, Mexico won 8-6.
Mexico started the game with offensive fireworks as Jose Rojas hit a sac-fly that scored Alonso Gaitan, who made it home from second base.
Then, with the bases loaded, Alan Trejo hit a double that scored all the runners, resulting in a 4-0 Mexico lead after the first inning.
After a handful of scoreless innings, the Netherlands would respond in the fifth. Left fielder Dwayne Kemp would hit a two-run home run to cut the lead in half. Then, Jonathan Schoop continued his great Premier12 play with a triple that scored Didi Gregorius, making the score 4-3.
The Netherlands then successfully overcame the 4-0 deficit when Ray Patrick-Didder hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning to make it 5-4.
