The Kia Tigers are pacing the Korean Baseball Organization with a 78-50 record. The club holds a 6.0-game lead over the Samsung Lions for the top record in the league. The Tigers defeated the Kiwom Heroes 14-0 on September 6. While the score points to an uneventful game, Han Jun-su recorded his first career multi-home run game.
Jun-su has been a member of the Tigers since 2019. However, he has only played for the team in the 2019, 2023 and 2024 seasons. The 2024 season is the first time the catcher has played over 100 games with the club. He has recorded nine home runs in 138 career games, with two of those home runs coming in his last start.
Jun-su is not known as a home run hitter. His last long ball came on August 23, and before that, on July 2. His multi-home run game is a momentous occasion for him.
Jun-su hit a three-run home run off Kim Yun-ha in the sixth inning. He followed it up with a two-run home run off Lee Myeong-jong in the seventh inning. Jun-su totaled five RBIs in the game, which is also a career-high for him.
Jun-su is having his best career year by far. He has a .312 batting average with 40 RBIs. He has a .824 OPS and is hitting .275 with runners in scoring position this season. He has excelled against left-handed pitchers this season as well. He has a .378 batting average in 48 at-bats against left-handed pitchers.
