The 2025 Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) season is off to a sizzling start.
Three weeks into the season, the highest level of professional baseball in South Korea is already breaking attendance records, and we’ve gained a better sense of which teams are contenders and which are pretenders.
Four Twins Pitchers Throw Combined No-Hitter – On Tuesday, the LG Twins threw the fourth combined no-hitter in KBO history in a 3-0 win against the Samsung Lions.

The Twins threw the first combined no-hitter in KBO history on October 6, 2014, against the NC Dinos.
KBO’s 2024 MVP Suffers Injury Setback – Kia Tigers third baseman Kim Do-yeong will be reevaluated next week after his latest MRI revealed his injured left hamstring has not fully healed, reports Yoo Jee-ho of Yonhap News Agency. Kim suffered the injury during the first game of the season.
The 21-year-old won the 2024 KBO MVP after finishing the year with a .347/.420/.647 slash line with 38 home runs and 40 stolen bases. Kim became the youngest player in league history to hit 30 home runs and steal 30 bases in a season.
During the 2024 WBSC Premier12, Kim went 7-for-17 with three home runs in five games with South Korea.

Youm became increasingly angry with the umpiring crew after he disagreed with a play ruled dead. With a runner on first base, Lee Ju-heon of the Twins hit a line drive to third base, but the ball was dropped by the Bears’ third baseman Kang Seung-ho.
The runner, Moon Sung-ju, returned to first base thinking Kang had caught the ball. With two runners standing at first base, Bears’ first baseman Yang Suk-hwan tagged both Lee and Moon, and Moon was ruled out. When the umpires called the play dead, Youm thought they had reversed the call and called both runners out, leading to the manager’s argument with first base umpire Lee Young-jae.
