LAMP: Charros de Jalisco Win Seventh Straight To Get Back to .500

Charros de Jalisco 6, Mayos de Navojoa 1 – The Charros (13-13) concentrated all their offense in the second inning, scoring all six of their runs in the frame. Tirso Ornelas hit a three-run homer in the second, and the Charros got RBI singles from Mateo Gil, Jose Aguilar, and Jack Mayfield. Luis Juarez drove in the Mayos’ (10-16) only run with a solo homer in the seventh.

Naranjeros de Hermosillo 4, Caneros de Los Mochis 3 (10 Innings) – Brandon Valenzuela’s sac fly in the top of the 10th got the Naranjeros (15-11) past Los Mochis. Seven Hermosillo pitchers combined to allow three runs on four hits over 10 innings, striking out eight and walking three.

Venados de Mazatlan 11, Sultanes de Monterrey 5 – Brayan Quintero went 4-for-5 with five RBIs as the Venados handed Monterrey its seventh straight loss. The Sultanes fell to 6-20 and sit 15 games behind first-place Culiacan. Jorge Solano allowed one run on six hits and struck out four in six innings of work for Mazatlan, which improved to 10-16.

Yaquis de Obregon 6, Tomateros de Culiacan 4 (10 Innings) – Greg Allen’s two-run homer in the top of the 10th pushed the Yaquis past Culiacan. Kennys Vargas went 1-for-3 with two runs scored for Obregon, which improved to 11-14. The Tomateros were handed their fifth loss of the season, but hold a five-game lead over Los Mochis in the first half standings.

Algodoneros de Guasave 8, Aguilas de Mexicali 4 – Guasave poured on six runs in the seventh inning, getting a two-run double from Justin Wylie, an RBI single from Jesse Castillo, and a three-run homer from Roberto Ramos to double up the Aguilas. Ramos also hit a two-run homer in the fourth and went 2-for-5 with five RBIs and two runs scored. Norberto Obeso went 2-for-5 with two runs scored for Mexicali.
