LAMP: Charros, Naranjeros, Cañeros all with Big Offensive Nights, Yaquis Sweep Doubleheader

Charros de Jalisco 12, Águilas de Mexicali 5– Both teams combined for 25 hits in an explosive, offensive game. Reynaldo Rodriguez, Billy Hamilton, and Alfredo Hurtado all had three RBI a piece. Luis Ivan Rodriguez had five strikeouts, but Trevor Clifton would earn the win for Charros.

Yaquis de Obregón 2, Sultanes de Monterrey 1–  Orlando Lara and Faustino Carrera engaged in a pitchers duel during the win for Yaquis. Both pitchers had seven strikeouts. However, it was Lara who had kept runs off the board which pushed Yaquis to victory.

Yaquis de Obregón 2, Sultanes de Monterrey 0 –  It was another great starter duel in the second game of this doubleheader. Luis Cessa and Mario Garcia combined for 11 strikeouts, three hits, and just one earned run. However, Cessa would have the edge as he did not give up a run in his 5-inning outing. Greg Allen homered in the game for Yaquis as well.

Cañeros de los Mochis 8, Tomateros de Culiacán 3 – Cañeros hit three home runs during the game as they went up 7-0 early on and did not look back. Eric Filia and Isaac Rodriguez, who had two of the three homers, combined for 7 RBI.

Naranjeros de Hermosillo 6, Venados de Mazatlán 1 – Jose Samayoa went 7.0 innings in his big-time start of Sunday for Naranjeros. He threw six strikeouts and gave up just one earned run. Designated hitter Alex Dickerson had a big offensive day with 3 RBI.

Algodoneros de Guasave 2, Mayos de Navojoa 1 – Jorge Perez delivered a great start for Algodoneros as he went 5.2 innings and did not give up an earned run. The Algodoneros bullpen gave up just two hits after Perez exited. In this low-scoring battle, Keven Lamas and Yadir Drake’s RBIs were the difference.

Águilas de Mexicali 1, Sultanes de Monterrey 0 – Águilas starter David Reyes went 6.2 innings and threw just three hits. Reliever Jesus Cruz struck out three batters to keep Sultanes off the scoreboard. An RBI from Moises Gutierrez was the difference in the game.
