Three games remain in the Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacifico’s regular season, and only one team has been eliminated the postseason.

With one three-game series, here’s what is on the line in each series.

Hermosillo at Jalisco – The Naranjeros de Hermosillo have a one-game lead in the second half standings on the Charros de Jalisco, so the series will likely decide the second half title. However, Hermosillo has nearly secured the top seed in the playoffs and can finish no lower than fourth in the second half if they were to be swept and other teams sweep. The Charros could finish as low as fifth if they get swept. Game one of the series is tonight at 8:30 p.m. and can be viewed via the league’s YouTube page for a fee.

Mexicali at Monterrey – Monterrey can’t make the playoffs, but they could spoil the end of Mexicali’s regular season. The Aguilas could finish tied for second with a sweep combined with a Hermosillo sweep of Jalisco, and Monterrey is, well, the worst team in the league this year. A second place finish in the second half would give the Aguilas 14.5 points towards playoff seeding, though the best seed that finish could likely get them would be No. 4. Game one of the series is tonight at 8:30 p.m. and can be viewed via the league’s YouTube page for a fee.

Navojoa at Mazatlan – These two teams are battling for the final playoff spot, and they’ll each finish with 8.5 points, as Mazatlan has clinched eighth place in the second half. If Navojoa sweeps the series, the final playoff spot would be decided by the second tiebreaker, as the teams have the same amount of points and the same record. Mazatlan could still finish as high as tied for third with a sweep.Game one of the series is tonight at 9 p.m. and can be viewed via the league’s YouTube page for a fee.

Obregon at Los Mochis – Tied for fourth place at 15-14 in the second half standings along with Culiacan, Los Mochis and Obregon could finish as high as tied for third or as low as eighth if swept. Game one of the series is tonight at 9:30 p.m. and can be viewed via the league’s YouTube page for a fee.

Culiacan at Guasave – Culiacan, as mentioned, is in the same situation as Obregon and Los Mochis, while Guasave is a game behind the three teams. Guasave could finish as high fourth or as low as eighth in the second half, and will likely start the playoffs on the road. Game one of the series is tonight at 9:30 p.m. and can be viewed via the league’s YouTube page for a fee.

Last Night’s Games

Charros de Jalisco 6, Naranjeros de Hermosillo 5 (10 Innings) – Hermosillo got a run in the top of the eighth and three in the ninth to erase a four-run deficit and tie the game, but Billy Hamilton drew a walk with the bases loaded to push the winning run across for Jalisco in the bottom of the 10th.

Aguilas de Mexicali 8, Sultanes de Monterrey 5 – Mexicali plated six in the top of the first, and Monterrey couldn’t produce enough offense for a comeback. Leo Heras and Luis Santos each hit two-run doubles in the first for Mexicali.

Venados de Mazatlan 2, Mayos de Navojoa 1 – Ramiro Pena drove in a run with a single, and Fabricio Macias scored on a throwing error by Navojoa shortstop Ciro Norzagaray for Mazatlan. Bobby Bradley had an RBI double for Navojoa.

Yaquis de Obregon 6, Caneros de Los Mochis 2 – A five-run eighth inning pushed Obregon past Los Mochis, with Fernando Flores and Jonathan Aranda each hitting two-run singles and Allen Cordoba drawing a walk with the bases loaded in the frame.

Tomateros de Culiacan 6, Algodoneros de Guasave 4 – Esteban Quiroz hit his 12th homer of the year for Culiacan, placing him one behind league leader Yasmany Tomas of Los Mochis, and Alexis Wilson and Joey Meneses each hit RBI doubles for the Tomateros.
