Tomateros de Culiacan 6, Venados de Mazatlan 0 – Jose Luis Bravo threw seven innings of shutout ball, allowing one hit, one walk, and striking out seven as the first-place Tomateros splattered the Venados (5-12) Thursday night. Poncho Ruiz went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored for Culiacan, which improved to 14-3 and leads the league by three games. Mazatlan managed just two hits and five total baserunners in the game.

Caneros de Los Mochis 10, Sultanes de Monterrey 1 – Eric Filia went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a pair of runs scored as the Caneros improved to 11-6. Luis Miranda allowed one run on six hits and struck out five over seven innings of work for Los Mochis. With the loss, the Sultanes have dropped nine of their last 10 games and are tied for ninth with Mazatlan at 5-12.

Naranjeros de Hermosillo 2, Yaquis de Obregon 1 (11 Innings) – Hermosillo and Obregon played nine scoreless innings before the Yaquis got Oziel Flores across in the top of the 10th. Unfortunately for them, the Naranjeros (11-6) tied the game in the bottom of the 10th on an RBI single from Francisco Cordoba and won it in the bottom of the 11th when Nicolas Torres drew a bases-loaded walk to send Agustin Murillo home with the game-winner. Carl Edwards Jr. was stellar for Obregon, throwing seven shutout innings and allowing two hits and two walks while striking out three.

Charros de Jalisco 9, Algodoneros de Guasave 7 – Mateo Gil’s two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth gave the Charros the lead, and Mario Meza capitalized on Gil’s timely hit to earn the win while facing just six batters. The win moved Jalisco into sole possession of eighth place.

Mayos de Navojoa 6, Aguilas de Mexicali 0 – Matt McDermott went 2-for-5 and drove in three runs with a double in the seventh as the Mayos shut out Mexicali. Augustin Ruiz hit a solo homer for Navojoa (7-10) in the eighth.
