LAMP: Mayos de Navojoa Stew Tomateros de Culiacan; Sultanes Win Second Under Cancel

Mayos de Navojoa 12, Tomateros de Culiacan 1 – Juan Uriarte got the Mayos (12-17) on the board with a fourth-inning grand slam and they never looked back, blowing out first-place Culiacan (22-7). Culiacan’s lone run came on an RBI single from Rudy Martin in the seventh.

Caneros de Los Mochis 2, Aguilas de Mexicali 1 – Darrel Torres allowed one run on three hits over six innings of work, striking out three and walking two, as Los Mochis improved to 18-11. Felix Stevens’ two-run homer in the top of the sixth was the difference in the game for the Caneros. Jose Heberto Felix drove in the Aguilas’ lone run with an infield single in the fifth.

Charros de Jalisco 5, Venados de Mazatlan 1 – Jack Mayfield went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored as the Charros climbed above .500.  Mayfield currently leads the Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacifico with a .374 batting average, knocking 35 hits in 94 at-bats so far this season. Reynaldo Rodriguez hit a three-run homer in the fifth, moving him into a tie for the league lead with six homers.

Algodoneros de Guasave 3, Yaquis de Obregon 0 – Carlos Garzon hit a two-run homer in the fifth and Jesse Castillo drove in the Algodoneros’ third run with an eighth inning sac fly as Guasave improved to 15-14. Taiga Kamichatani threw 5 1/3 shutout innings for Guasave, allowing four hits, striking out six and walking one.

Sultanes de Monterrey 3, Naranjeros de Hermosillo 1 – Zach Muckenhirn allowed one run on five hits over six innings, striking out seven and walking two as the Sultanes picked up their second win under new manager Robinson Cancel. Ricardo Valenzuela’s two-run double in the first opened the scoring for Monterrey, and Riley Unroe added an RBI single in the seventh.

Caneros de Los Mochis – Deactivated RHP Manuel Urías Gastélum, who may be activated November 15, and added RHP Luis Enrique Gastélum to the active roster. Retroactive to November 10, deactivated OF Jayson Bass, who may be activated November 15, and added LHP Manuel Valdez to the active roster.

Algodoneros de Guasave – Deactivated LHP Jesús Broca, who may be activated November 15, and radded RHP Manuel Castro to the active roster. Retroactive to November 11, deactivated IF Alan López, who may be activated  November 16, and added C Brandon Jaime to the active roster.

Venados de Mazatlan – Deactivated IF Carlos Arellano, who can be activated November 19, and added IF Santiago Gómez to the active roster. Deactivated RHP Víctor Morales, who may be activated November 15, and added LHP Alejandro Soto to the active roster. Retroactive to November 9, deactivated RHP Raúl Carrillo, who may be activated  November 16, and added RHP Irving Medina to the active roster. 

Charros de Jalisco – Deactivated RHP Joe Jones, who may be activated November 24, and added RHP Jared Wilson to the active roster. Deactivated RHP Cristian Alvarado, who may be activated November 15, and added RHP Edgar Manzo to the active roster.

Sultanes de Monterrey – Deactivated RHP Ricardo Chapa, who may be activated November 15, and added RHP Carlos Medina to the active roster.
