LAMP: Sultanes de Monterrey’s Losing Streak Hits Seven Games; Tomateros de Culiacan Win Seventh Straight

Tomateros de Culiacan 7, Charros de Jalisco 3 – Christian Santana hit his league-leading fourth homer of the season, and Luis Verdugo and Joey Meneses each chipped in homers of their own as Culiacan improved to 12-2. Victor Castaneda went six innings, allowing two runs on four hits, striking out six and walking one for the Tomateros.

Naranjeros de Hermosillo 5, Aguilas de Mexicali 4 (10 Innings) – Irving Lopez drove in the game-winning run with a double in the top of the 10th, and the Naranjeros survived a rally in the bottom of the inning to improve to 9-5. Curtis Taylor allowed one run on six hits over six innings of work, striking out six and walking none, and Sergio Burruel homered for Hermosillo.

Caneros de Los Mochis 3, Mayos de Navojoa 1 – Yasmany Tomas hit a two-run homer in the seventh that put the Caneros (9-5) ahead for good. Darrel Torres threw six shutout innings for Los Mochis, allowing three hits, three walks, and striking out seven.

Algodoneros de Guasave 5, Sultanes de Monterrey 3 – The Algodoneros won their fourth straight behind Keven Lamas’ three-run double in the bottom of the sixth. Lamas went 2-for-4 with four RBIs in the game, while Yadir Drake went 2-for-3 with an RBI single in the third, sending the Sultanes to their seventh straight loss.

Yaquis de Obregon 6, Venados de Mazatlan 4 – Fernando Villegas’ three-run homer in the seventh was the difference for Obregon, which improved to 7-7 with the win. Odrisamer Despaigne threw five innings, allowing four runs on six hits with a strikeout and four walks for the Yaquis.
