Cesar Mendoza tied the game at three-apiece for Monterrey in the eighth with a solo homer.

Caneros de Los Mochis 3, Algodoneros de Guasave 1 – The Caneros scored three runs in the first and made them hold up, with four pitchers combining to allow just one run on one hit to the Algodoneros. Rodolfo Amador drove in Roel Santos and Isaac Rodriguez with a single, and Felix Stevens got Eric Filia home with a sac fly.

Aguilas de Mexicali 6, Venados de Mazatlan 1 – Three RBI singles in the eighth extended the Aguilas lead to 4-0, and they added two more in the ninth to cruise past the Venados, who fell to 2-7 on the season.
