LAMP: Tomateros de Culiacan Top Sultanes de Monterrey; Charros de Jalisco Back to .500

Tomateros de Culiacan 10, Sultanes de Monterrey 6 – Two-run homers from Rosman Verdugo in the third and Andres Alvarez in the sixth pushed the Tomateros to their league-leading 27th win of the year, and Joey Meneses went 2-for-5 with a pair of RBIs in the win. Riley Unroe hit a three-run homer for Monterrey, which fell to 13-27 and 1-4 for the second half.

Charros de Jalisco 4, Yaquis de Obregon 1 – Starter Manny Banuelos went 4 1/3 innings for Jalisco, allowing one run on three hits, and the Charros (20-20) got three runs in the eighth on RBI singles from Michael Wielansky, Japhet Amador, and Julian Ornelas to return to .500. Ornelas went 2-for-4 and drove in Jalisco’s first run with a single in the sixth. Six Jalisco relievers combined to shut out Obregon the rest of the way, allowing two hits, a walk, and striking out five over 4 2/3 innings.

Naranjeros de Hermosillo 7, Mayos de Navojoa 2 – Three bases-loaded walks in the top of the fifth contributed to a five-run inning for Hermosillo, which improved to 22-18. Sergio Burruel and Jasson Atondo each smacked RBI singles in the fifth, and Jose Cardona hit a solo homer in the sixth for the Naranjeros. Bobby Bradley drove in both of Navojoa’s runs with a two-run homer in the eighth.

Algodoneros de Guasave 3, Caneros de Los Mochis 0 – Five Guasave pitchers combined to allow five hits and two walks in a shutout of Los Mochis, who the Algodoneros (22-18) now trail by just one game in the overall standings. Jorge Flores drove in Narciso Crook and Drew Evans with a double to left field in the third and Drew Evans stole home in the fifth for the Algodoneros.

Venados de Mazatlan 8, Aguilas de Mexicali 4 – RBI singles from Randy Romero and Phillip Ervan and a two-run double by Ramiro Pena in the seventh pushed the Venados past the Aguilas for their second win of the second half. Ray-Patrick Didder of Mexicali managed to go 0-for-0 in four plate appearances, drawing three walks, getting hit by a pitch, and stealing two bases.

Yaquis de Obregon – Traded the rights to RHP Gerardo Reyes to the Charros de Jalisco for IF Christian Villanueva.

Sultanes de Monterrey – Received IF Diosbel Arias on loan for the 2024-25 season from the Tomateros de Culiacan. Retroactive to November 7, deactivated OF Edgar Bravo, who may be activated as of November 28, and added IF Diosbel Arias to the active roster.

Aguilas de Mexicali – Deactivated RHP José Luis Reyes, who may be activated November 28, and added RHP Patricio Ress to the active roster.

Caneros de Los Mochis – Deactivated LHP Manuel Valdez, who may be activated November 28, and added RHP Víctor García to the active roster.

Algodoneros de Guasave – Deactivated LHP Jesús Broca, who may be activated November 28, and added RHP Víctor Buelna to the active roster. Deactivated RHPJuan Cossio, who may be activated November 28, and added LHP Ian Medina to the active roster.

Tomateros de Culiacan – Deactivated RHP Axel Sauceda, who may be activated November 28, and added RHP Luis Aguayo to the active roster. Retroactive to November 24, deactivated IF Ichiro Cano, who may be activated  November 28, and added IF Rosman Verdugo to the active roster.

Charros de Jalisco – Retroactive to November 22, deactivated RHP Luis Payán, who may be activated November 29, and added RHP Manny Bañuelos to the active roster. Retroactive to November 25, deactivated IF Jack Mayfield, who may be activated November 30, and added IF José Ángel Ceceña to the active roster.

Venados de Mazatlan – Deactivated RHP Óscar Rojas, who can be activated November 28, and added RHP Fernando Burgueño to the active roster.
