Tomateros de Culiacan 5, Charros de Jalisco 0 – Manny Banuelos allowed one hit over six shutout innings, walking three and striking out six as the Tomateros improved to 11-2. Andres Alvarez hit a solo homer in the first, and Esteban Quiroz hit a two-run shot in the seventh for Culiacan, which now has a three-game lead.
Aguilas de Mexicali 2, Naranjeros de Hermosillo 1 – Connor Capel’s two-run single in the bottom of the first was enough for the Aguilas, who improved to 8-5. Jordan Diaz hit a solo homer, his first of the season, in the second for the Naranjeros.
Mayos de Navojoa 7, Caneros de Los Mochis 5 – The Mayos got three in the second and four in the fourth to get their record back to one game under .500. Missael Rivera and Luis Alfonso Cruz each had two-run singles for the Mayos, who sit at 6-7.
Algodoneros de Guasave 7, Sultanes de Monterrey 6 – Justin Wiley went 3-for-5 with a double, three runs scored, and hit a grand slam for Guasave in their five-run second inning. He also scored the go-ahead run in the ninth on a passed ball as the Algodoneros improved to 6-7. Yadir Drake had an RBI single in the fifth for Gusave.
Yaquis de Obregon 4, Venados de Mazatlan 1 – Victor Mendoza had an RBI single and a sac fly for the Yaquis, who sit in the middle of the pack at 6-7 with the win. Niko Vasquez drove in Mazatlan’s lone run with a double in the fourth.
