Naranjeros de Hermosillo 5, Sultanes de Monterrey 4 (11 Innings) – Luis Gonzalez singled home league batting leader Jasson Atondo in the bottom of the 11th, giving the Naranjeros their 35th win of the regular season. Former San Francisco Giant Alex Dickerson went 2-for-5 for Hermosillo and tied the game at four with a solo homer in the eighth.
Tomateros de Culiacan 4, Mayos de Navojoa 2 – Joey Meneses drove in a pair of runs with an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth, and Luis Verdugo’s RBI single in the eighth gave the Tomateros some insurance as they held on to edge Navojoa. The win puts the Tomateros one game back of Hermosillo overall and 9-13 in the second half, good for sole possession of eighth place.
Charros de Jalisco 6, Venados de Mazatlan 5 (11 Innings) – Carlos Mendevil’s two-run single in the bottom of the 11th gave Jalisco their 15th win of the second half, putting Benji Gil’s club one game back of Hermosillo. Starter Luis Payan threw six innings, allowing one run on four hits and striking out five for the Charros. Phillip Ervin hit a solo homer in the third for Mazatlan.
Aguilas de Mexicali 10, Caneros de Los Mochis 2 – The homers flew like eagles for the Aguilas, with Kennys Vargas, Alex D. Mejia, Yadiel Hernandez, and Julian Leon each hitting round trippers that sent nine runs across as Mexicali crushed Los Mochis on Tuesday. The win got Mexicali back to .500 for the second half at 11-11.
Yaquis de Obregon 8, Algodoneros de Guasave 2 – Jonathan Aranda went 2-for-4 with a a double, a solo homer, and two RBIs for the Yaquis, who found themselves down 4-2 in the first inning after starter Arturo Lopez was knocked out after just 2/3 of an inning, allowing four runs on four hits and three walks before getting the hook.
