LAMP: Under New Management, Sultanes de Monterrey Snap Losing Streak; Charros de Jalisco Win Eighth Straight Game

Charros de Jalisco 6, Venados de Mazatlan 1 – The Charros (14-13) picked up four runs in the eighth inning to get their eighth consecutive win on Tuesday night. Jack Mayfield and Alfredo Hurtado each had RBI singles for Jalisco in the big frame, and Michael Wielansky drove in a run with a sacrifice fly. Charros starter Nolan Kingham allowed one run on five hits in seven innings, striking out three and walking one, while his Mazatlan counterpart, Major League Baseball veteran Julio Teheran, went six scoreless innings, allowing four hits, a walk, and striking out one.

Yaquis de Obregon 2, Algodoneros de Guasave 0 – Allen Cordoba’s double in the third drove in the game’s only runs, and the Yaquis improved to 12-14. Five Obregon pitchers combined for a four-hit shutout, striking out 11 Algodoneros and walking none. Guasave managed to get one runner into scoring position the entire game.

Mayos de Navojoa 9, Tomateros de Culiacan 5 – Bobby Bradley went 2-for-5 with a double, a homer, two runs scored, and three RBIs as the Mayos 911-16) knocked off the league leading Tomateros (21-7) in the series opener. Joey Meneses went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer, his league-leading sixth of the year, and four RBIs for Culiacan.

Sultanes de Monterrey 6, Naranjeros de Hermosillo 4 – The Sultanes snapped their seven-game losing streak, edging the defending LAMP champions on the road Tuesday night. Carlos Sepulveda’s two-run single in the top of the ninth put the Sultanes and new manager Robinson Cancel over the top. The Monterrey bullpen allowed two runs on three hits and a walk in four innings of work.

Caneros de Los Mochis 2, Aguilas de Mexicali 1 – Isaac Rodriguez clubbed an RBI single to right field in the top of the 10th, sending Alejandro Urias home with the go-ahead run as the Caneros improved to 17-10. Mexicali’s lone run came when Connor Capel drew a bases-loaded walk in the third, forcing Alejandro Mejia across the plate.

Algodoneros de Guasave – Loaned IF Kristian Delgado to the Sultanes de Monterrey. Retroactive  November 11, deactivated OF Víctor Labrada, who may be activated November 16, and added OF Drew Avans to the active roster. Retroactive to November 11, deactivated LHP Vidal Sotelo, who may be activated November 13, and added LHP Edwin Cervantes to the active roster.

Sultanes de Monterrey – Waived LHP Carlos de León. The League authorized the club to invite IF Jose Guadalupe Chavez to its next training session.

Aguilas de Mexicali – Named Robinson Cancel manager. Deactivated EHP Carlos Medina, who may be activated November 13, and added RHP Mario García to the active roster. Retroactive to November 10, deactivated RHP Clayton Andrews, who may be activated November 20. Added RHP Daniel Ponce to the active roster. Retroactive to November 11, deactivated RHP Arturo Roque, who may be activated November 13, and added RHP Mario Pérez to the active roster. Retroactive to November 11, deactivated RHP Norge Ruiz, who may be activated November 21, and added IF Carlos Sepúlveda to the active roster. Retroactive to November 10, deactivated IF Marcos Castañon, who may be activated November 15, and added IF José Gpe to the active roster. Retroactive to November 11, deactivated IF Ricardo Serrano, who may be activated November 16, and added RHP Ángel Garza to the active roster. 

Yaquis de Obregon – Retroactive to November 9, deactivated RHP Ernesto Zaragoza, who may be activated  November 16, and ladded LHP Fernando Sánchez to the active roster. Retroactive to November 9, deactivated LHP Rubén Salinas, who may be activated November 13, and added LHP Saúl Vázquez to the active roster.

Mayos de Navojoa – Retroactive to November 11, deactivated IF Edgar Lugo, who may be activated November 13, and radded RHP Damián Mendoza to the active roster.

Caneros de Los Mochis – Deactivated RHP Marco Fregozo, who may be activated November 13, and added RHP Luis Enrique Gastélum to the active roster. Retroactive to November 11, deactivated RHP Miguel Vázquez, who may be activated as of November 13, and added RHP Juan Gamez to the active roster. 

Venados de Mazatlan – Named Joe Álvarez to the coaching staff. Retroactive to November 7, deactivated LHP Alejandro Soto, who may be activated November 14, and added RHP Erick Casillas to the active roster.

Charros de Jalisco – Retroactive to October 24, deactivated C Jesus Cordova, who may be activated November 13, and added C Sebastian Valle to the active roster.
