Joe Corbett and Anthony Gose will join the Toros del Este for the upcoming LIDOM season.
Gose — who was selected in the second round by the Philadelphia Phillies in 2008 as an outfielder — appeared in three MLB games as a reliever in 2024. He is currently in AAA, holding a 3.22 ERA over 40 games.
Gose played five seasons as an outfielder, tallying a career-high .254 batting average in 2015, but was released after 30 games the year after. After being drafted, Gose chose to play the outfield after being a two-way player in high school.
Known for his high-velocity fastball, Gose appeared in games for Toros del Este in the 2020 and 2021 seasons, adding a combined ERA of 1.11 in 27 games.
Following his fizzle-out, he committed to pitching, making his mound debut in 2021 with Cleveland.
For the 27-year-old Corbett, Toros del Este will provide an opportunity for the former 10th-rounder to tally innings against good competition. After appearing in games earlier at the AA level in the Rangers’ organization, he finished his season in Liga Mexicana de Beisbol.
Although neither arm profiles as a high-leverage addition, the additions of both seasoned Veterans look to help propel Toros del Este forward into 2024.
