Liga Mexicana de Beisbol Announces Five-Year Title Sponsorship Deal With Banorte

The Liga Mexicana de Beisbol has reached a five-year title sponsorship agreement with Grupo Financiero Banorte, one of the country’s largest banks, in advance of the 2026 season.

As part of the agreement, the league will be called the Liga Mexicana de Beisbol Banorte in official communications, with a revised league logo including the Banorte logo being placed into use immediately. The terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

“This is one of the most important steps that have been taken, not only in my administration, but in the 101-year history of the league,” said Horacio de la Vega, the LMB’s president, in a press release announcing the deal. “This strategic alliance will allow the development of LMB Banorte, as the slogan says, making us stronger and providing stability for many years to come. With this great news, we begin the second century of the league’s history. I celebrate the unity of the 20 teams, which will make us stronger through teamwork. We want to highlight and honor the fact that we are a fun, innovative, historic, safe, family-friendly, and exciting league. The strength of LMB Banorte lies in all these characteristics.”

Banorte is one of the four largest banks in Mexico, with more than 1,200 branches nationwide and is publicly traded on the Mexican Stock Exchange and the Madrid Stock Exchange. According to the LMB’s press release, it will be integrating Banorte’s sponsorship into the league’s financial and digital operations, as well as the stadium experience.

“Banorte has chosen to participate in spaces where millions of Mexicans share excitement, pride, and a sense of belonging. Our alliance with the Mexican Baseball League reflects that conviction and strengthens our commitment to Mexico through sports,” said Marcos Ramírez, the CEO of Grupo Financiero Banorte, in the league’s press release. “We are convinced that the growth of sport is also built through infrastructure, innovation and financial solutions that make it stronger, more modern and closer to its fans.”

The agreement is the first time that the LMB has linked a brand with the league’s name. Mexico’s winter league, the Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacifico, has had a title sponsorship agreement with the oil company ARCO since 2020.
