Olmecas de Tabasco (8-11) 6, Tigres de Quintana Roo (8-11) 0 – Starter Evan Grills allowed six hits and struck out six on his way to a complete game shutout, the only complete game thrown so far this year in the LMB, as Tabasco won its fifth straight game and moved into a three-way tie for seventh place in the Zona Sur. Marco Ramirez and Randy Romero each hit solo homers, Jose Godoy had a two-run single and Carlos Arrellano and Yunior Severino each had RBI singles in the win for the Olmecas.
Toros de Tijuana (11-6) at Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos (9-9) – Postponed due to rain and rescheduled as part of a single-admission doubleheader on Saturday, May 9.
Dorados de Chihuahua (7-12) 11, Saraperos de Saltillo (4-14) 8 – Chihuahua scored six in the fourth and three in the fifth, pouring on the offense and pushing Saltillo further into the Zona Norte cellar. Brainer Bonaci hit a three-run homer for the Dorados in the fourth and added a sac fly in the fifth as Chihuahua spoiled a two-homer game by Saltillo’s Christian Villanueva.
Guerreros de Oaxaca (11-8) 12, Piratas de Campeche (8-11) 8 – Juan Santana hit a two-run single in the four-run bottom of the seventh as the Guerreros got past the Piratas at Estadio Alfredo Harp Helu in Mexico City in the opener of a series relocated due to ongoing stadium construction in Oaxaca. It was a big night for Santana, who went 3-for-5 with three runs scored, two homers, and five RBIs as the Guerreros kept pace with the division-leading Diablos Rojos del Mexico and Bravos de Leon.
Pericos de Puebla (11-8) 8, Diablos Rojos del Mexico (12-7) 7 – Samar Leyva’s grand slam in the bottom of the fifth put the Pericos ahead for good, and neither bullpen allowed another run through the remainder of the game as the Pericos climbed within a game of the Diablos and the Bravos in the Zona Sur standings. Franklin Barreto and Juan Carlos Gamboa each homered for the Diablos.

Conspiradores de Queretaro (9-10) 6, El Aguila de Veracruz (9-10) 1 – Roel Santos went 2-for-5 with a run scored, a homer, and three RBIs as the Conspiradores stole the series opener from the talons of El Aguila. Yurisbel Gracial and Rainel Rosario each added solo homers for Queretaro, and starter Tyler Viza allowed one run on four hits over six innings, walking three and striking out eight.
Caliente de Durango (10-9) 13, Algodoneros de Union Laguna (7-12) 7 – Elier Hernandez went 4-for-4 with a solo homer and scored four times, and Webster Rivas went 3-for-5 with a three-run homer, two RBI singles, and five RBIs on the night as the Caliente climbed back over .500. Dean Nevarez had a double and a solo homer for Union Laguna.

Bravos de Leon (12-7) 8, Leones de Yucatan (7-12) 5 – Connor Panas had a double and a triple and scored twice for Leon, Sandber Pimentel hit a two-run homer and Gabriel Cancel added a solo shot as the Bravos climbed into a tie for first in the Zona Sur with the Diablos. Seven Leon relievers combined to allow just one hit and three walks over the final 5 2/3 innings after starter Jonah DiPoto left the game in the fourth.

Rieleros de Aguascalientes (12-7) 10, Charros de Jalisco (10-9) 2 – The Rieleros scored eight runs over the final two innings, with Jose Rondon capping the rally with a two-run homer in the ninth as Aguascalientes took the first game of the set from Jalisco. Ronald Medrano threw six innings, allowing two runs and three hits and striking out six, and the bullpen allowed a hit and a walk over the final three innings. Kyle Garlick hit his fifth homer of the year, a solo shot in the fourth, for the Charros.
Acereros de Monclova (10-9) 3, Sultanes de Monterrey (13-6) 2 (13 Innings) – A single by Geraldi Diaz in the bottom of the 13th inning got Jecksson Flores home with the winning run as the Acereros took down the division-leading Sultanes. Luis Gonzalez went 3-for-5 with an RBI for Monclova, which used 10 pitchers in the win, with only starter Jackson Goddard and game-finisher Roland Mora going more than one inning.
