Mexico will hire Javier Colina as its bench coach this November. Former MLB utility player Alfredo Amezaga will serve as the third base coach, while former MLB outfielder Jacob Cruz will be the hitting coach. Jose Silva will be the pitching coach, and Jonathan Jones will serve as the first base coach. Manny del Campo will be the team’s bullpen coach.

The roster features 11 players who have played in the MLB. Those players are Adrian Martinez, Humberto Castellanos, Ruben Alainz, Fernando Salas, Manny Bañuelos, Victor Gonzalez, Tres Barrera, Chris Carter, Alejo Lopez, Alan Trejo, and Jose Rojas. These players will look to provide a veteran presence for Mexico. Adrian Martinez, Humberto Castellanos, and Manny Bañuelos will look to help anchor Mexico’s rotation.

Another intriguing name joining Mexico for Premier12 will be starting pitcher Marcelo Martinez. The southpaw is currently in his first season in the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL), pitching with the Rakuten Monkeys. Martinez went 13-3 this year, posting a 2.04 ERA through 24 starts, striking out 114 batters in 149.2 innings while tossing a complete-game shutout. He will be the ace of Mexico’s rotation.

One outfielder to keep an eye on this November will be Julian Ornelas. Ornelas, 27, was born in Tijuana, Mexico, and played in Liga Mexicana de Béisbol with the 2024 Champions Diablos Rojos del México. In 79 games, Ornelas hit .320, blasting 16 home runs, along with 84 RBIs. He was also solid defensively, with a fielding percentage of .991 in 2024.

Mexico will host Venezuela in the opening round on November 9. The game will be played at Estadio Panamericano in Guadalajara, Mexico. The first pitch is set for 9 PM EST.
