The Caribbean’s top baseball nations will return to the diamond in December as the eighth Caribbean Baseball Cup heads to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, from Dec. 6-13, 2026.
Organized by the Caribbean Baseball Confederation (COCABE), the tournament will bring regional teams together for another edition of the competition following Curaçao’s championship run in 2025.
Curaçao captured its second consecutive Caribbean Baseball Cup title at the 2025 tournament, held Dec. 3-8 at Andre Rodgers National Baseball Stadium in Nassau, Bahamas. The team finished undefeated at 5-0, defeating the host Bahamas 5-1 in the championship game to claim the title and secure the qualifying spot for the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo.
The Bahamas finished runner-up with a 3-2 record, while the U.S. Virgin Islands earned third place after defeating Sint Maarten 6-4 in the bronze medal game. Sint Maarten finished fourth at 2-3, and the Dominican Republic placed fifth with a 0-4 record.
Curaçao’s Ericson Leonora helped power the champions’ offense, recording three hits and scoring a run in a 7-1 victory over Sint Maarten before driving in two runs in the championship game.
Bahamas third baseman Daunte Stuart also delivered a standout performance, recording seven RBIs in a 29-0 mercy-rule victory over the Dominican Republic.
With the 2026 tournament approaching, Curaçao will look to extend its title streak as the Caribbean’s baseball nations prepare to compete for regional honors in Puerto Plata.
