Aguilas Cibaenas (3-6) 5, Estrellas Orientales (5-4) 2 (11 Innings) - Trevor Bauer became the first imprted player to pitch in LIDOM after winning the Cy Young Award when he made his debut with the Estrellas Orientales on Thursday night, throwing five innings and allowing a run on two hits, walking five and striking out four for the Estrellas.
Bauer escaped a runners-at-the-corners with one out situation in the first. He stayed in the game in the second despite a 36-minute delay when a light tower on the third base side blinked out.
The Aguilas got their lone run off the 2020 Cy Young Award winner when J.C. Escarra grounded out with the bases loaded in the top of the third.
Bauer threw 80 pitches, 53 of them for strikes, over his five innings of work, utilizing a fastball that touched 93 mph while mixing in a slider, sinker, and curveball.
