Rafael Devers, after nine seasons with Boston, will play against his former team for the first time this weekend. Devers was traded on June 15 to the Giants in exchange for left-handed pitcher Kyle Harrison, right-handers Jordan Hicks and Jose Bello, and right fielder James Tibbs III, all heading to New England.
Campbell signed an eight-year, $16 million contract with the Red Sox on April 2, which included a $2 million signing bonus and escalating salaries from $1 million to $16 million between 2025 and 2032. The deal includes a $19 million club option for 2033 with a $4 million buyout, and a $21 million club option for 2034.
Campbell has been with the Red Sox organization since being selected in the fourth round of the 2023 MLB Draft following his freshman season at Georgia Tech.

Defensively, Campbell started 54 games at second base across 471.2 innings, handling 222 chances with 88 putouts, 127 assists, seven errors, and 26 double plays for a .968 fielding percentage. He also appeared in seven games in center field and two in left field during the 2025 season.
In spring training, Campbell played 20 games and hit .167/.305/.271 over 263 plate appearances, logging eight hits, two doubles, one home run, two RBI, 10 walks, and 18 strikeouts.
Last season, Campbell advanced through three levels of the Red Sox farm system, playing for High-A Greenville, Double-A Portland, and Triple-A Worcester.
