The Georgia Bulldogs added a big-time player to their 2028 recruiting class. On Friday, September 25, Colin Raymond announced his commitment to Georgia on Instagram.

Raymond is ranked 44th nationally in the 2028 high school class, according to Baseball Buzz on Instagram. He is the number two player in the 2028 class from the state of New York as well. Raymond currently plays baseball for The Stony Brook School on Long Island.

Power-hitting potential and why that will work at Georgia

During his sophomore season of high school baseball, Raymond hit 13 home runs for the Stony Brook Bears.

Power hitting will carry over well in college if Raymond decides to take on a college career with the Bulldogs down the road. Georgia consistently sits at the top of college baseball in home run hitting. In 2026, the Bulldogs hit 179 home runs as a team and led the country in that statistic.

A look at Georgia's 2028 recruiting class

The Georgia Bulldogs have a 2028 recruiting class that ranks 23rd in the country, according to Perfect Game.

Raymond is joining that class, which contains two other prospects from the state of Florida. Those two prospects are catcher Grant Arnold from Merritt Island and right-handed pitcher Cullen Garner from Saint Augustine.

Much like Raymond, Arnold is also a top-100 player in the 2028 high school class and is ranked 18th overall.

The Georgia Bulldogs are off to a hot start in recruiting during the 2028 cycle, ensuring that successful baseball remains the standard in Athens.
