The host nation gets its toughest test of the week. After dropping a 2-0 decision to Italy on Saturday night, Team Kingdom of the Netherlands faces world No. 2 Chinese Taipei on Sunday afternoon at Pim Mulier Stadion — a bounce-back spot against the highest-ranked team in the field. Here’s how to watch.
When and where
Netherlands vs. Chinese Taipei is set for 15:00 CEST on Sunday, June 28 — 9:00 a.m. ET — at Pim Mulier Stadion in Haarlem, the Netherlands.
How to stream
Every Honkbalweek Haarlem game streams live on Honkbalsoftbal.tv, with English-language commentary. A tournament pass covering all 20 games runs €19.99 (about $24); single-game access is also available for roughly $3. A free registration unlocks the platform’s highlights, interviews and daily recaps.
What’s at stake
Chinese Taipei (1-0) opened with a 3-2, 10th-inning win over Curaçao, walking it off on a Chih-Yu Chen squeeze bunt in the international tiebreaker. The Netherlands (1-1) split its first two, routing the International Globetrotters 6-1 before running into a buzzsaw in Italy’s pitching staff. This is a ranking-points game for both national sides, and for the Dutch it’s a chance to prove the offense that went quiet against Italy can solve the tournament’s most decorated arm.
Probable pitchers
Chinese Taipei sends right-hander Kuo Tzu-Chuan to the mound. The Netherlands’ starter is to be confirmed at first pitch.
Where they rank
Among the national teams in Haarlem, Chinese Taipei carries the highest pedigree, sitting No. 2 in the WBSC World Rankings — ahead of the Netherlands (No. 10), Italy (No. 14), Czechia (No. 16) and Curaçao (No. 29). The International Globetrotters, a club side rather than a national federation, do not carry a WBSC ranking and earn no ranking points.
Group A standings
Italy 2-0 · Netherlands 1-1 · Chinese Taipei 1-0 · International Globetrotters 1-2 · Czechia 0-1 · Curaçao 0-1.
