The Liga de Béisbol Profesional Roberto Clemente, Puerto Rico’s professional winter league, will hold the 2026 Sorteo de Novatos next Monday.

This year's rookie draft will feature five rounds and a compensatory round.

The Senadores de San Juan have the first overall pick, followed by the Indios de Mayagüez, Criollos de Caguas, Gigantes de Carolina, Leones de Ponce, and Cangrejeros de Santurce.

According to the LBPRC's official X account, the draft will occur at 6 p.m. AST, while fans can watch each team's selections via Wapa Deportes, a Puerto Rican television network dedicated to professional sports.

Players to Watch

Shortstop Justin Lebron is listed by the LBPRC as a potential draft pick. The 21-year-old was selected 18th overall out of Alabama by the Cincinnati Reds in June. Cincinnati's No. 3-ranked prospect on MLB Pipeline has a .940 OPS and eight home runs in 23 games at High-A Dayton. Lebron's father is of Puertan Rican descent.

Andrew Salas, the younger brother of San Diego Padres catcher Ethan Salas, could also hear his name called on Monday. The Miami Marlins farmhand, who is developing as a shortstop, had a .937 OPS in the Florida Complex League before a promotion to Single-A Jupiter. Salas gets his Puerto Rican heritage from his mother's side of the family.

2026-27 LBPRC Season
