Piratas de Campeche (43-39) 3, Tigres de Quintana Roo (43-40) 2 (Game 1/Seven Innings) – A two-run homer by Armando Alvarez in the third put the Piratas ahead for good in the first game of the doubleheader. Alvarez also drove in Campeche’s first run with a single in the opening frame.

Piratas de Campeche (44-39) 3, Tigres de Quintana Roo (43-41) 0 (Game 2/Seven Innings) – Guess who? Armando Alvarez hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning as the Piratas swept the doubleheader from the Tigres to open the series. The pair of wins gave Campeche sole possession of third place in the Zona Sur, where they lead by half a game over Puebla, Leon, and Oaxaca, while Quintana Roo fell out of playoff position to seventh place, two games behind the three teams tied for fourth.

Leones de Yucatan (29-54) at Diablos Rojos del Mexico (57-28) – This game was suspended after three innings due to rain with the Diablos leading 7-0 and will be completed on Wednesday as part of a doubleheader.

Guerreros de Oaxaca (45-40) 12, Bravos de Leon (45-40) 1 – Leonel Valera went 3-for-5 with five RBIs, hitting RBI singles in the first, third, and sixth as the Oaxaquenos blew out Leon. Starter James Kaprelian allowed one run on two hits over five innings, walking two and striking out three. The win keeps the two teams tied for fourth place with Puebla, a half-game behind third-place Campeche and two games to the good side of seventh-place Quintana Roo.

El Aguila de Veracruz (39-46) 4, Olmecas de Tabasco (50-35) 3 (11 Innings) – Daniel Montano hit into a fielder’s choice at second base in the bottom of the 11th and Wynton Bernard was able to score on the play to get El Aguila the winning run. Jose Miranda hit a two-run homer in the eighth to tie the game for Veracruz. The win keeps El Aguila alive for a playoff spot, though they’re six games back of sixth place with eight games to play. Tabasco still has a slim chance of taking first place from the Diablos Rojos, though a win by the Diablos in their suspended game against Yucatan would clinch home field advantage for the Reds for the first three rounds of the playoffs.
