Winter Ball: Schedules and Key Dates For Winter Leagues Outside the CBPC

With the Major League Baseball playoffs looming ahead and the Liga Mexicana de Beisbol finishing the Serie del Rey this week, winter baseball is just around the corner.

Last week, World Baseball Network published a list of key dates in the four leagues governed by the Confederacion de Beisbol Profesional del Caribe - the Dominican Republic's LIDOM, Mexico's Liga Mexicana del Pacifico, Puerto Rico's LBPRC, and Venezuela's Liga Venezolana de Beisbol Profesional.

In addition to those four leagues, there are several other professional leagues that play between October and February.

The list below encompasses the following leagues outside the CBPC: Nicaragua's Asociation Profesional de Beisbol Nicaraguense, Cuba's Serie Nacional, Colombia's Liga Beisbol Profesional Colombian, the Australian Baseball League, Panama's ProBeis, Argentina's Liga Beisbol de Argentina, and the Asia Winter Baseball League.

With the exception of the Australian Baseball League and the Asia Winter Baseball League, the champions of each of those leagues will head to the Serie de Las Americas in Venezuela in February. In previous years, teams from some of these leagues have also been invited to play in the Caribbean Series, which is organized by the CBPC, though no invitees for the 2027 Caribbean Series have been announced thus far.

Below is a list of key dates from winter (and for Argentina and Australia, summer) leagues around the world. If a league listed above doesn't have any dates listed, it is because the league has yet to release a schedule or start dates for the 2026-27 season.

Jan. 9 - Asociation Profesional Beisbol Nicaraguense Regular Season Ends (Nicaragua)

Jan. 12 - Asociation Profesional Beisbol Nicaraguense Playoffs Begin (Nicaragua)

February 2027

Feb. 1 - Asociation Profesional Beisbol Nicaraguense Finals Game 7 If Necessary (Nicaragua)

Feb. 1-8 (Approximately) - 2027 Caribbean Series, Estadio Fernando Valenzuela, Hermosillo, Mexico

Feb. 3-10 (Approximately) - 2027 Serie de Las Americas, Estadio Monumental Simon Bolivar, Caracas, Venezuela
