Oakland Ballers Secure Ten-Year Lease Extension at Raimondi Park

In a significant move for both the Oakland Ballers and the West Oakland community, the team has announced a ten-year lease extension with the City of Oakland for their home field at Raimondi Park. This agreement solidifies the Ballers’ commitment to revitalizing the historic park and enhancing its role as a community hub.

Community Impact

Beyond baseball, the Ballers have emphasized their role in community engagement. The park is accessible to the public on non-game days, featuring a video scoreboard for events like movie nights and a renovated playground for families. Additionally, the team has implemented transportation solutions, including shuttle services from West Oakland BART and bike valet stations, to facilitate easy access to games.

District 3 Council member Carroll Fife highlighted the broader benefits of the partnership, noting that the Ballers’ stewardship has led to neighborhood revitalization and environmental cleanup efforts, such as the removal of contaminated soil from nearby areas.
