One Thing From Each MLB Division Series Game

The Mets have punched their ticket to the National League Championship Series, but the last three spots are up for grabs. Here’s everything you missed from yesterday’s division series games.

New York Mets 4, Philadelphia Phillies 1: The Mets miracle run continues. The Phillies held a one-run lead in the sixth inning until Francisco Lindor hit a grand slam off Carlos Estévez. The Mets will await the result from Game 5 in Los Angeles to see who they will play.

Los Angeles Dodgers 8, San Diego Padres 0: The Dodgers forced Game 5 in a bullpen game. Despite Dylan Cease being on the mound, the Dodgers offense started fast. Mookie Betts hit a first-inning home run for the second straight game. The Dodgers have a chance to advance to the NLCS at Dodger Stadium.

Detroit Tigers 3, Cleveland Guardians 0: The Tigers have shut the Guardians out in two consecutive games. Despite being outhit, the Tigers did just enough. The Guardians went 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base. The Guardians will have to get the offense going if they want to force a Game 5.

New York Yankees 3, Kansas City Royals 2: The Yankees have taken a 2-1 series lead in large part due to Giancarlo Stanton. Stanton drove in two of the three Yankee runs. His solo home run in the eighth inning was the decisive blow. Luke Weaver picked up his second save of the postseason. The Yankees will hand the ball to Gerrit Cole to try and send them to the American League Championship Series in Game 4.
