Premier12 – 12 Teams in 12 Days: Australia

Australia made its debut in the Premier12 tournament in 2019 after failing to reach the top 12 teams for the first edition of Premier12 in 2015. Entering play in 2019, Australia ranked seventh among the top 12.

They would play well in their Premier12 debut, as they qualified for the Super Round, but would go 1-4. Australia is looking to finish better compared to their run in 2019.

This year, Australia’s roster will feature the No. 1 overall selection of the MLB Draft with second-baseman Travis Bazzana. Bazzana is no stranger to international competition, having represented Australia during the U-18 and U-23 Baseball World Cup. Joining Bazzana on Australia’s squad will be Warwick Saupold, Lewis Thorpe, and Aaron Whitefield, who all have MLB experience.

Their first game is set for November 13, where they will play 2019 Premier12 champions, Samurai Japan. The game will begin at 5 AM EST, with the event being played at the Vantelin Dome in Nagoya, Japan.
