Premier12 – 12 Teams in 12 Days: United States

As we’re only a few more days until the global competition of Premier12, the United States will be hoping to capture their first Premier12 title. Overall, they’ve had tremendous success in the first two years the tournament was held, losing in the finals to South Korea in 2015 and finishing fourth in 2019, losing to Mexico in the Bronze medal game.

This will be the first season that former Los Angeles Angels manager Mike Scioscia will manage the Premier12 team.

After appearing in his 20th season in the MLB, 44-year-old Rich Hill will look to get his first taste of international baseball. Hill made four appearances out of the Boston Red Sox bullpen in 2024, going 0-1, with a 4.91 ERA, striking out five batters in three and two-thirds innings.

Offensively, infielders Termarr Johnson and Carson Williams will look to provide an immediate impact in USA’s lineup, as both are ranked in MLB Pipeline top 100 prospects. As for the outfield, it will be fun to watch Justin Crawford and Chandler Simpson tracking down fly balls, as both have plus speed and will look to provide several stolen bases throughout the competition.

USA will play on Opening Night, November 9, as they will be hosts to Puerto Rico. The first pitch is set for 6 PM EST, where the game will be played at Santa Teresita Stadium in Mexico.
