The Serie de las Americas tournament is in full swing, with day two having four total games on Jan. 25, 2025. Both Curaçao and Colombia played two games, with one side faring better than the other. Let’s take a took at how day two has gone for all the teams in the Serie de las Americas field.

Colombia 4 – Curaçao 5

The day started off with its most controversial game. This game was tied going into the final inning and Curaçao had loaded the bases with two outs. On a 3-2 pitch, the ump called on a ball on a pitch that was very close which allowed Curaçao to walk off Colombia with a free pass. Besides the debated call, Curacao had battled back all game coming from behind thanks to a two hit, two RBI game from Jiandido Tromp, as well as two hits from MLB veteran Didi Gregorius.

Argentina 5 – Colombia 1

The upset of the day came from Team Argentina as they shocked Colombia with a dramatic come from behind win. Argentina had trailed all day and was down 1-0 in the eighth inning until Hyacinth Cypriote hit a go-ahead two-run home run to give them the advantage. Argentina added three more runs in the top of the ninth to pad their lead and eventually closeout the game with a victory. Not enough can be said about the pitching for Argentina as they held Colombia to just one run on three hits.

Panama 4 – Cuba 5

In possibly the day’s tightest contest, Cuba was able to take down Panama. Yuniesky Dominguez led the charge for Cuba going two for three at the plate on the day, with two RBIS and one walk. Yoelkis Guibert, Jose Aviles, and Roberto Baldoquin also all recorded RBIs for Cuba. Alberto Civil was able to shut the door recording the save throwing 2 1/3 scoreless innings with two strikeouts.  Both teams move to 1-1 after the results of both today and yesterdays games

Curaçao 2 – Nicaragua 0

In their second game of the day, Curaçao once again took care of business with a shutout. They relied on great pitching with Nestor Molina going seven shutout innings without walking a single Nicaragua batter. On the offensive side, Juremi Profar recorded an RBI double while Ray Patrick Didder hit a solo home run in the seventh to put the game out of reach and move Curaçao to 2-0 in the Serie de las Americas.
