Day three of the Serie De Las Americas (SDLA) has come and gone, and it was the highest-scoring day of the tournament so far.
Panama 4 – Colombia 3
Panama has had a case for dramatics throughout the tournament, and this game was no different. Going into the bottom of the 8th inning, Panama was down 3-1. With two outs and the bases loaded, Joel Ruiz doubled into dead center for the go-ahead bases-clearing double. Kevin Rodriguez would shut the door with a scoreless 9th inning to give Panama the comeback win.
Nicaragua 13 – Argentina 2
Argentina looked to build off their upset the day before, but Nicaragua had different plans and dominated this game. It was the bottom of the lineup that did all the damage for Nicaragua, as the bottom would record 10 RBIS, with four coming from Omar Mendoza. Mendoza would record his first home run of the tournament. On the other side, Nicaragua was able to continue their strong pitching during a bullpen game.
Curacao 15 – Cuba 2
Curacao have been the best team in the tournament so far, and they continued their hot hitting as they would blow out Cuba. Everyone in the starting lineup, but one, would record at least one RBI, with five players recording at least two. Patrick Didder would once again shine as he would record a two-run triple to kick off the run parade. Cuba will look to rebound in their game against Columbia on Monday.
